Report by Tony Raffle
I attended the Service on Sunday 13th March along with Dave Lee and Ron White and our wives. It was a beautiful sunny day and St Faith’s church in Havant was filled with families, friends and comrades of the fallen.
The Mayor of Havant was in attendance along with serving members of the Royal Marines Royal Naval Cadets and veterans It was a fine service and moving tribute to all those men who gave their lives in conflicts since the Second World War. Among the fallen were sailors, soldiers and airmen from wars in the Falklands, Afghanistan, Palestine, Northern Ireland and Iraq.
The 30-minute service was followed by a short commemoration at the Memorial where the names have been added and particularly that of Michael Foote.
